GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) is the name of the Earth Observation initiative launched by the European Commission and the European Space Agency.
The objective of GMES is to monitor the state of the environment on land, at sea and in the atmosphere and to improve the security of the citizens in a world facing an increased risk of natural and other disasters. learn more
The BOSS4GMES project aims to provide the technical, financial and contractual foundations which will enable the transition of GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) from a concept to an effective, operational programme, and, in doing so, link GMES with key political decision makers, a broader sphere of users and the wider public.
